Different cultures have their own traditions and ways of preparation, while corporations and marketing giants have their own ideas about how to sell coffee. If you’re an average consumer, it can be easy to be put off by the contradictory trends you see across the industry. You may find yourself screaming “I just want a normal cup of coffee!!”.
Between the targeted ads on social media, corporate sponsors on the radio, and the baristas at your local coffee shop, it can be hard to know who to trust. We’ve taken it upon ourselves to debunk a lot of this information in a new series called “Confusing Coffee Conspiracies”. These short video essays will cover topics from marketing slogans to brewing practices, with the intent of pulling back the curtain on Big Coffee.
