We love coffees from Guatemala for both their consistency and their sweet and balanced profiles. For these reasons, we frequently use these coffees as components in our blends, but we get extra excited when we can source single-farmer microlots that really shine on their own.

This coffee comes from Jesus Leiva Cardona, who owns a farm called El Aguacate in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. It has a silky and delicate body with a sugary sweetness, and notes of tart citrus and apple.

FROM CAFE IMPORTS:

Jesús Leiva Cardona owns the nearly 4-hectare farm called El Aguacate, which is entirely planted with coffee. Here the cherries are picked ripe and depulped the same day, then fermented, depending on the climate, for 12–24 hours. They're washed twice to remove the fermented mucilage, then dried on concrete patios, or sometimes on Nylon. Drying takes 5–7 days on average.
